My name is Samantha. I became a part of the Small animal surgical services team in May of 2019. I graduated from a 2 year technician program at YCCC in Wells, Maine. Surgery has always been an interest of mine and I enjoy getting to learn and see different procedures that I wouldn’t normally get to. Helping care for animals has always been my passion and I feel lucky to get to do it as my job. I live in Sanford with my husband and 3 dogs. In my off time I love being outdoors whether it’s hiking or bringing the dogs to the beach. My husband and I also enjoy checking out local breweries and trying new places to eat and explore.
Hi my name is Nicole! I became a part of SASS in the fall of 2019 and my love for the job has grown tremendously throughout my time. There is no job that can compare to saving a life. I graduated from the University of Maine, Orono in 2016 with a Bachelors in Marine Biology. The following fall I started a program at YCCC where I earned an Associates in Veterinary Technology and became an LVT in 2019. In my free time, I volunteer for a non-profit called Marine Mammals of Maine where I respond and rescue stranded marine mammals along the coast of Maine. If I’m not working with animals, I’m most likely at my local CrossFit gym becoming a healthier version of myself, on the beach, or creating memories with my favorite people that will last a lifetime!
My name is Jordanne, and I became a member of the SASS support staff in September 2017. I graduated from University of Maine Orono in 2015 with my Bachelor's degree in Animal & Veterinary Sciences and a minor in Equine Studies. I realized half-way through my Bachelor's degree that I didn't want to go to Veterinary School and that I would much rather become a Technician. I then enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program at UMA Bangor and graduated with my Associate's Degree and obtained my license in 2016. I have worked as a Veterinary Assistant and Technician since 2009. Through the years I have continued to refine my skills and look forward to expanding my knowledge throughout my career. I discovered my passion for surgery after becoming an LVT. No patient or procedure is ever the same and therefore it always keeps me thinking! I live in Brunswick with my husband, dog, and cat. In my spare time I love riding my horse and have been riding since I was 7 years old. In the winter I love to read and watch Netflix with a glass wine. In the summer I enjoy doing any outdoor activity, especially hiking, camping, running with my dog, and going for boat rides. The fresh air is my best friend!
