My name is Tina. I joined the Small Animal Surgical Services team in May 2021. When I decided it was time for a career change my love of animals led me towards a career as a veterinary technician. I graduated with an AS degree in veterinary technology. Upon completion of school I began my career as an emergency veterinary technician.

I graduated with an AS degree in veterinary technology. Upon completion of school I began my career as an emergency veterinary technician. I spent 6 years as an emergency veterinary technician. I experienced and learned a lot in those 6 years. One thing I learned about myself is that I enjoy being a part of life changing surgeries. From lifesaving emergency surgeries, to simple spays and neuters to help control the pet population, and now orthopedics and the many other procedures Dr. House performs, I enjoy it all. It is a pleasure to monitor anesthesia during these procedures and to see the patients through their recovery process. When I’m not working, I love to be at a concert or hiking.

I have always loved animals which led me on my current career path. I have been working in veterinary clinics since I was 15, starting as a veterinary assistant and moving up from there. I graduated with an AS in Veterinary technology in December 2017, I passed my VTNE in 2018 to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. Upon completion of my degree I continued working for my general practice, until I moved up to Maine and joined a different general practice. Making the jump from general practice to Small Animal Surgical Services is one of the best choices I've made. It allows me to assist in improving patient's quality of life. I thoroughly enjoy learning new information and skills, which is something that Small Animal Surgical Services has provided me with. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my two cats, doing outdoor activities, crafting, and spending time at Disney.

I just joined Small Animal Surgical Services in April of 2025 as Dr. House’s administrative assistant. I am a Maine native, with a detour to San Antonio, Texas for 2 years in High School. I graduated from The University of Maine at Farmington with a BS in Rehabilitation Services with a MHRT/C. Other than my background working as a DSP 2 / CRMA, and Adult Case Manager - I have worked a number of customer facing jobs. I am excited to be aiding the team in scheduling with clinics, answering emails, placing supply orders, and many other secretarial tasks. When not working with the SASS team, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters. I’ve been enrolled at the Korean Language School of Maine since 2021, and love learning about the language and culture. I love to read, and have already read 145 books since the start of 2025 (it is July 2025 at the time of this bio). I am a total nerd, love dying my hair fun colors, getting piercings & tattoos, going to concerts (everything from K-pop to rock), and cuddling with my cat Willow. Our cat Goose only likes my husband, and only tolerates the rest of us with her 1/2 an orange brain cell lol.

Previously I worked at a retail company for 28 years, I trained as a medical assistant and became a certified phlebotomist in 2012. In 2022, I got my Associates degree in Psychology from Southern Maine Community College.
When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love being in nature, treasure hunting, taking photos, and fishing. I enjoy dabbling in different artforms, and spending time with my 2 dogs. Marvin is a 5 year old Great Dane/ Mastiff mix, and Lilly is a 15 year old Chihuahua mix.
