Katelin

My name is Katelin, but you can just call me Katie. I started working for the SASS team in September of 2017. I have had a love and interest for animals my entire life so the Veterinary field has always been an interest for me. When York County Community College announced their new Veterinary Technology program, I immediately signed up. As the first graduating class, we had a special job to uphold with becoming accredited but we did it and graduated in 2016. I passed the national exam and received my veterinary technician license that same year. During my studies, I worked for a couple of clinics and part time jobs on the side. Since starting my LVT career, I have found an excitement for the behind-the-scene part of this field (surgery, treatment care, etc.) I enjoy connecting and caring for each patient that comes my way.

My husband and I live in York county where we grew up.  As a newly married couple, we are excited for this next chapter in our lives with our cat, Zoey. In my spare time, I like to explore what the great state of Maine has to offer. Anytime outside with my husband and family is cherished whether it is running the trails, biking, hiking and visiting the beach. But sitting inside with our cat is our favorite winter activity.

Jordanne

My name is Jordanne, and I became a member of the SASS support staff in September 2017. I graduated from University of Maine Orono in 2015 with my Bachelor's degree in Animal & Veterinary Sciences and a minor in Equine Studies. I realized half-way through my Bachelor's degree that I didn't want to go to Veterinary School and that I would much rather become a Technician. I then enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program at UMA Bangor and graduated with my Associate's Degree and obtained my license in 2016. I have worked as a Veterinary Assistant and Technician since 2009. Through the years I have continued to refine my skills and look forward to expanding my knowledge throughout my career. I discovered my passion for surgery after becoming an LVT. No patient or procedure is ever the same and therefore it always keeps me thinking! I live in Brunswick with my husband, dog, and cat. In my spare time I love riding my horse and have been riding since I was 7 years old. In the winter I love to read and watch Netflix with a glass wine. In the summer I enjoy doing any outdoor activity, especially hiking, camping, running with my dog, and going for boat rides. The fresh air is my best friend!
